INSIDE F5J - low-priced full house (6-flap) starter model for F5J
Top quality from Gruener-CNC. Made in Germany!
Best novelty 2016 in the FMT readers' election
The model:
15.09.2015: Our Introduction F5J, which is only a few months old, has broken all previous sales records of our own model lines! Now we want to satisfy all those customers, who think that the Introduction F5J is too "starter-like" or not agile enough.
Due to the resemblance between Introduction F5J and Inside F5J, the model descriptions resemble each other as well ...
Libelle Competition - Libelle Evo - Libelle Supreme - Libelle A 380 - Introduction F5J ... The new INSIDE F5J, our second model for the very attractive competition class F5J, has inherited excellent genes! Of course, it also is a plane for all kind of pilots: for those, who love long flights in the thermals as well as for those, who love to have relaxing flights, for the "come-without-charger-to-the-model-flying-site"-pilots as well as for the "I-won't-charge-between-the-flights"-pilots.
The differences to the Introduction F5J is the 6-flap-wing with ailerons with the associated reduced dihedral.
As usual we use stable tubular spars, precisely lasercut wood parts, a very simple construction (Hoellein-3D-puzzle), easy and forgiving take off-, flight- and landing characteristics, large speed range due to the profile AG35, ecxellent handling and thermal characteristics. In addition to all this, it is not only possible to program the "normal" flight mode, but also a thermal-and distance/speed flight mode. Easy purchase of single spare parts and assemblies. Made in Germany!
New: 2866mm wingspan, 1100g flying weight, three-part wing with multiple dihedral and attached wingtips, lightweight rudder and elevator constructed in a solid interlocking framework, removable elevator (optional) mounted in front of the rudder, 90° deflectable landing flaps enabling you flying vertical descents, integrated wing connectors in the main spar, innovative (tool- and tape-free) fixation of the outer wings. Vertical descents with deflected landing flaps (90°) and landings avoiding the vortex zone on steep slopes are now possible without any problems. Positive deflected flaps over the whole wingspan turn a very slow plane with the ability of flying tight circles into a plane that is even slower and circles even tighter. With negative deflected flaps your plane accelarates on it's way to the eagle on the other side of the model flying site without any problems. After switching to the thermal settings, the eagle will turn green with envy (see curve radius above)! With negative deflected flaps you either return to the take-off point or you head for the next upwind.
The recommended drive - containing the BL-outrunner Hacker A20-22L Evo, a 3-cell LiPo with a capacity of 1300mAh and the CamCarbon 11x6 prop - allows a many many climbs to thermal country. Due to the light weight, a motor run time of 5 to 10 seconds per climb is sufficient.
The kit:
Main feature of the model is the tubular carbon spar, onto which the lasercut ribs are kind of "threaded". Stylish wingtips ensure an elegant appearance. Our Introduction F5J and Inside F5J have the most beautiful and elegant fuselage of all of our Gruener kits so far and it is consistently designed for the use of small brushless outrunners. With a flying weight of approx. 1100g and considering a wing with nearly 3 meters wingspan and a wing area of 65dm² (wing loading around 17g/dm²), you might imagine the thermal abilities of the Inside F5J. Due to the long fuselage and the multiple dihedral in combination with the wingtips, it has excellent flight characteristics.
The fuselage made of balsa is reinforced with light plywood in the front section. A precisely shaped milled part is already prepared to fix the motor Hacker A20-22L Evo. The kit contains, besides of the lasercut parts, CRP-spars, GRP-leading edges and all the small parts and linkages needed to complete the model. All the kits of the Gruener-CNC-line include a multicolored construction plan scaled 1:1 and a fully illustrated German construction manual.
Glue, covering film, power- and RC-components are NOT included in the kit. As covering film we recommend ORACOVER or ORALIGHT iron-on film.
- Hacker A20 -22L Evo (premium suggestion) or Robbe Roxxy 2834/12 (standard, in this case the center hub 35.3,2.8 is obligatory)
- Flight controller Hacker X-40SB pro with integated BEC
- 3S LiPo battery (from 850mAh, recommendation: 3S/1300mAh)
- RE-spinner cone 35mm on center hub 35-3.0-8 (only for the Hacker-motor)
- Aeronaut-folding prop CAM Carbon 11x6
Recommended RC-equipment:
- Transmitter, able to manage a 6-flap-wing and several flight modes
- Receiver with normal range
- 8 x servo Graupner DES 427BB, or as an alternative for "bumpy touchdowns": 6 x DES 427BB and 2 x DES 428BB MG (metal gear)
- Alternative: 8 x servo D-Power DS-140BB MG
Recommended material for the wing's wiring:
- 8-pin "MPX"-socket and 8-pin "MPX"-plugs for the wing-fuselage-connection (required 1 x)
- 5-pin "MPX"- flat socket and 5-pin "MPX"-flat plug for the connection of the outer wing pannels with center wing (required 2 x)
- approx.. 3.2 meters servo cable 0.14 or 0.25mm²
