VOODOO, fully molded pylon model, black-red-yellow version
VOODOO, was originally made for the F5D-400 class. "The Heavenly" and a fully composite pylon model? Who would ever have thought this! VOODOO is NOT a wooden BYO model, it is NOT made in Germany and it is NOT CNC-milled either. Nevertheless, after the successful product launch in 2007 we sell considerably more VOODOOs than our manufacturer can deliver. The reason is that the VOODOO is hand-made in perfect CAD milled molds by an exceptionally gifted "artist". They are produced in a time-consuming manufacturing process piece by piece (...CNC-molded, of course) and finished in negative molds in an amazing high quality. Prominent german top pylon-pilots even say that the VOODOO is the best you get in this class at the moment ... not to forget the resonable price-tag!
The "kit" consists of a carbon fibre reinforced GRP-fuselage with a precisely mounted bulkhead, which has already a pre-fabricated mounting scheme for the motor (17mm distance). The mounting holes for the wings are precisely prepared and the tail unit is already glued to the fuselage. The carbon-reinforced wings with the already hinged ailerons are prepared for easy mounting of the aileron servo. Ball-links for the ailerons, as well as the pivot ball at the elevator, are mounted and ready for use.
To get in the air, you simply need - besides the power gear and the RC-equipment, the recommended 30mm precision spinner cone and a compatible prop.
The HET 3W motor in combination with the YGE-30 (small and outstanding controller) and the CAM Speed 4,7x4,7 is very suitable for an extreme airspeed on a 3S LiPo-battery (minimum continuous discharge current 25A!). This kind of motorisation is solely suitable for top pilots, because the VOODOO flies extremely fast with this setup.
Flying a VOODOO? Of course you should have enough experience with the handling of fast aileron steered models. VOODOO - easy to take off, easy to fly, easy to control, but very fast, which is typical for this class. The only difficulty could be the enormous angle of descent when landing. Due to the 2 aileron servos you might use them to reduce speed and make your landings a little bit easier.
