Sopwith Pup, highest-quality wooden kit from Gruener-CNC The classic from 1916 in ultramodern manufacturing!
The original:
The Sopwith Pup had been a British single-seater biplane, which was used as a fighter in the First World War. The Pup was built from the Sopwith Aviation Company and originated from the personal plane of the Sopwith chief pilot.
The Sopwith Pup was a very agile fighter, very pleasant and easy to fly. Due to the big wings it had a good rate of climb and maneuverability, especially in high altitudes. According to James McCudden, it was flying two circles, while at the same time Albatros was flying only one - although the Sopwith Pup had a weak drive compared to the Albatros D.III. Manfred von Richthofen praised the agility of the Sopwith Pup, but criticized the lack of nosedive abilities. Altogether 1770 Sopwith Pups were built.

After our 1:10 semiscale-models Piperle and Tiger Moth being successful and world-famous for years now, it was time for Ralf Gruener (Gruener-CNC) to set a new "benchmark" with the Sopwith Pup concerning manufacturing quality, fit accuracy, construction manual and construction plan. Be amazed by our new Sopewith-kit. All wooden parts are precisely cut, BYO-wheels, a detailed, illustrated multicolored manual with rudder deflection, multicolored construction plan, parts list, laser-numbered parts - whatever we wanted: all of it had been realized by Gruener in the construction of the Sopwith Pup. And "the icing on the cake" is the optional dummy of 9-cylinder radial engine made of 225 (!) lasercut single parts. Do we love details? YES, we do!
Important: the construction of this model is not completed "within a couple of evenings"! Above all, this model is for all those, who enjoy building and creating on their own and who are not satisfied with building and creating Climaxx or the Big Easy. "You have already finished with it within 3 evenings" (original quote of a customer).
