This is a very small power switch designed for F5J competition model gliders. With this switch your RC model can be turned on or off without the need to access it internally. Just move a magnet over the switch, on the outside of the fuselage of your model, and it turns on. To turn it off just pass the magnet by the switch again. The dual battery in combination with the magnetic switch provides redundant functionality, which again provides security. The switch selects the battery or BEC with the highest voltage. If the voltage is the same, the power is drawn from both, batteries or BECs. The idea is to use 1S Lipo/4S NiMH or 2S RX lipo depending on whether RX lipo should be the main RX battey (2S) or backup battery (1S Liop/4S NiMH). It is of course also possible to use other rx supply eg. 5.5volt bec. If one battery or BEC is removed or has a short-circuit, it will not affect the other battey or the output voltage. The magnetic switch has an ultra low power consumption in off-state ( ~ 30µA). The consumption is so low that the switch can be connected to a 1000mAh battery for a protracted period without discharging it. The switch has a built-in failsafe function: It remembers its state for at least 10 sec, if it is disconnected from the battery. This protects the switch against power glitch caused by, for example, bad battery connection etc.

All switches have been tested by the manufacturer with 10A for 30 sec before delivery. Standby consumption is controlled and a visual inspection is performed.
